Where Have Virtue, Humility and Prudence in Politics Gone

"Everything the State says is a lie, and everything it has is stolen." – Friedrich Nietzsche

Public officials would do well to remember Nietzsche's words.  Governments create nothing other than rules (laws) and administration which allow others to create.  All wealth or income redistribution schemes require that government take from the creators in order to "redistribute" to non-creators.  Virtue demands that government does not steal, humility demands that government not steal very much, prudence demands that government not steal so much that the creators rebel.  Where are we now in the West?

For the Christians out there, what do you think of governments which systematically violate the 8th and 10th Commandments?
